Racialisation and Knowledge Production: A critique of the report ‘Understanding Psychosis and Schizophrenia  Jayasree Kalathil and Alison Faulkner

Open Letter from Suman Fernando et al

Statement regarding coverage of issues related to racism
One criticism of the report has been that it inadequately covered racism (both as a causal factor and in mental health services), that changes were needed to some of the language in the relevant sections and that black people were not represented in the author group. We have undertaken to make some amendments to the relevant sections of the report, which we hope will make it even stronger and likely to be more helpful to people from black and minority ethnic backgrounds. An amended version will be available in due course.  Other critiques will be addressed in future editions.
