Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology

Awards and Funding

Chair's Welcome

Recognising and rewarding exceptional work and contributions an important aspect of any profession. The Division of Sport and Exercise Psychology is keen to be able to offer both professional recognition and some kind of reward for those individuals who engage in exceptional work in the field of sport and exercise psychology. These contributions might be as practitioners, researchers, or educators, all of which are of equal importance to the Division.

We feel that our three categories of awards: research, applied practice and distinguished contributions, give us the ability to recognise and reward individuals engaged in important and highly valued contributions to the field.

While not every nominee can win an award we are always very keen to read about the nominated success stories and the fantastic work undertaken within the field that does such an important job to enhance perceptions of both sport and exercise psychology, and sport and exercise psychologists.

International Conference Symposium Scheme

Grants are available to support British Psychological Society Member Networks to convene a symposium at an international conference.  The grants are offered under the Research Board’s international strategy and seek to increase the visibility of UK psychology and showcase the strengths of UK academic psychology.  Each grant provides between £1,500 and £3,500 to contribute towards the costs of registration, travel and accommodation for the symposium convenor/moderator and symposium panellists to participate in the symposium.

Deadlines: 1 May and 1 November
