London & Home Counties Branch 2014

During this year the London & Home Counties Branch Committee has mounted an extensive programme of talks and events for members.

The research talks and general talks from psychology experts and professionals have all been fully attended and audiences have appreciated the enthusiasm of speakers and the levels of knowledge of their subject which they have communicated.

Topics have included Legal Evidence, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Holistic Psychology, the Human Brain Project, the Neuroscience of Laughter and the Replication Crisis.

We have again presented the Career Talk series in which detailed information is presented on each professional Psychology specialism and the BPS Chartership route.  In addition, there have been opportunities to engage in a Research Workshop and in career networking evenings.

We extend grateful thanks to all our speakers for their generosity and commitment and high standards of presentation.

We have continued our support for PsyPag and have valued the input to the Committee from our PsyPag representative.

The Branch is happy to be supporting, for the first time a public series: Better Lives 2015 on Positive Psychology and the fashion industry organized by students on the recently established Psychology MSc. programme at the London College of Fashion.

We would encourage all our members who have not yet done so to sign up for L & HCB email listing so that we can respond to suggestions, comments and feedback to help inform our future planning.
